Friends Don’t Let Friends Watch A Bad Movie Sober!

Since this is our motto, our movie reviews are based on how many drinks it takes to enjoy a movie. The rating system is based on 0 to 10 drinks -- 0 being the best and 10 being the worst. A good movie will be rated with fewer drinks because it can be enjoyed on its own terms. Conversely, a bad movie will be rated with more drinks because you the viewer will need help to enjoy it, i.e., a degree of intoxication. So theoretically this means that ALL movies can be enjoyed even when they are real stinkers.

Rating System Guide:

0 Drinks: A perfect movie! A rarity. (e.g., Gone With The Wind, Citizen Kane)

1 Drink: Near perfection, but slightly flawed.

2 Drinks: Better than good. Highly recommendable.

3 Drinks: A good solid movie. Worth seeing.

4 Drinks: Better than average movie. (Warning: Do NOT drive or operate the remote beyond this level).

5 Drinks: An average movie. Nothing special.

6 Drinks: Slightly below average. Still worth watching. (Warning: Slurred speech may be induced at this level.)

7 Drinks: Way below average. You may want to skip this movie.

8 Drinks: Approaching Stinksville.

9 Drinks: A bomb. Run for cover (or for another drink)!

10 Drinks: The worst of the worst! (Warning: Watch out for alcohol poisoning.) (e.g., Battlefield Earth)

Miscellaneous Info: Each movie review also includes the following details.

Year of Production: The year the movie was released.

Type of Drinks In Movie: Summary of alcoholic beverages seen in the movie. If a drink is notated with a “?” after it, this means it’s unconfirmed.

Format: Could be either Film, DVD, VHS, PPV (Pay Per View) or PMC (Premium Movie Channel). Since the format of the movie can effect the movie watching experience, it is worth notating.
